Since the district tournament, South Nashville has been on the ropes. The boys from central Tennessee lost early in districts, battled back. They lost the first game in states…and battled back. So of course South Nashville lost its first game at the regionals. After winning four straight games in Warner Robins, Georgia, South Nashville is headed to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

After falling behind 3-0 to Tuckahoe American (VA) in the third inning, South Nashville added five runs to take the lead and the Southeast Regional title.

Zane Denton and Trae McLemore each hit RBI singles and Robert Hassell hit his first home run of the regional to give South Nashville the lead.

Tanner Morgan got the start and struck out six in three innings after having control issues in his previous regional appearances. McLemore tossed three innings of relief to get the shutout save.

Ben Pickman dominated in Warner Robins with 12 hits and two home runs to lead South Nashville with a .667 batting average. Chris McElvain has also set the tone for SNLL. Blake Money has been efficient off the bench as he had five hits in just nine at-bats.

Pickman and McLemore have pitched a combined 18 innings in the regional and allowed just four earned runs with 36 combined strikeouts.

South Nashville will open the Little League World Series on Thursday night at 8 p.m. against the New England champion.
